Depends on your personality and interests ofcourse... Are you looking for the historical roots of the Ottomans and Byzantine Empire or are you after crazy parties on the beach?
Regarding that your question includes "resort" word, i will assume that you'd like to go to the beach.
Antalya area is called as Turkish Riviera, and you'll find the best deals around this coast. Endless possibilities/deals/offers you may find through differnt travel operators.
Places like Bodrum, Gümbet, of Fethiye in summer time may make you think you are in UK town, or Antalya region may make you think you are in Russia or Germany. Turkey is visited by over 20 million tourist each year..

It really depends what you are looking for. I have been to Turkey twice in two years and absolutely love it!
Two years ago we went to Side which is more historic and less touristy but has still got your usual bars and restaurants! We stayed at the Asteria Hotel and it was fantastic, it was a bit more expensive than your average hotel but well worth it. We went All Inclusive and the food was lovely lots of choice. Only let down was most of the people their were German.
Last year we were on a bit of a budget so decided to get a last minute deal, we booked up to go to Fethiye which I was a bit worried about as I had never heard of the place. Fethiye is much the same as Side, not as touristy as your Marmaris or Hisanorou but has still got a great selection of bars and lovely restaurants. If you want a bigger choice of bars/nightclubs Hisanorou is only a bus ride away, we went one night at the end of our holiday, it was ok but glad I didn't stay so near the place. We stayed at a lovely family run Hotel called Hotel Levent, it was really basic but with everything you needed and the staff were great. I have now heard that the previous owner have left so not sure what it will be like now. Great holiday and for a really good price!

Hello!
If you're planning to go to Turkey in fall, then I definitely recommend you visiting Istanbul. It's a great city located on two continents, Europe and Asia. There is a big number of sightseeing places and excursions that just take your breath away, you will never forget it.
Also, I can recommend you a web-site where you can book an inexpensive hotel in Istanbul:
http://www.turkeytps.com
When booking a hotel in Istanbul on this site, you're getting a free transfer from the airport to the hotel, no matter how many nights you booked it for. Also, they serve a free breakfast.
Hope it helps, good luck!
