'you mean like in movie credits? the "best boy" is the main man , go to guy...just kidding.. like the lighting supervisor has a crew , his next in charge, main helper is the "best boy" . i'm a roofer, in commercial roofing we often refer to this position as "the 1st man"... a good job got a lot of "weight" but not so much responsibility.
