Should Greece merge with Turkey?

With the economical collapse Greece has sufferd latly some say joining turkey is the only way to save Greece from an even deeper downfall, now what will this mean for. Greece whose population stands at around 12 million while turkey has a population of 75 million. Will this mean that the greek culture might slowly fade if such a merge does happen? Oh and what is the liklyhood of this to acctually come into fruition? Ok bye and thank u very much :)

The debt problem for Greece started when it "freed" itself from the Ottoman Empire. The British were kind enough to provide the initial funds (loan) for the first default of the newly formed "democracy" in 1827 or so. The country essentially changed masters. From the Turks to the British and French European overlords.



The solution is to leave the eurozone and develop an independent country for the benefit of their own people, not Germany or France.

While the countries don’t necessarily hate each other, the war of Independence in Turkey was fought mostly against Greece, because they basically invaded huge parts of the country and wanted them for their own, leaving Turkey to have to fight brutal wars to gain Independence. So I suggest you do some research about their history before you come up with a so called ‘brilliant’ idea.

And about the tradition the Greek cuisine is basically identical to the traditional Turkish cuisine except that the greek call it their own.

Greece sucked all the funds of Europe, they stopped working and creating. Top EU countries did not care at that time because economy was relatively better and Greece was a small country. Nowadays even top countries has started limping.



Someone told these two nations hate each other. I am saying as a Turkish , this is not the truth. Politicians secure their positions and weapon traders make more money letting out fear of Turkey in Greece.



Era of conquering other countries finished long time ago. Creating technology, being efficient, getting better education and achieving better life standards is important today.
