I think the best place to eat in Istanbul is not a restaurant. Go to the galata bridge at sunset. at the end near the yeni cami (new mosque) there are boats with bbg's which sell fish in a bread rol. Lovely. the atmosphere, sights and sounds is great, then walk back across the bridge and watch the sun go down behind the minarets of the blue mosque, the dome of aghia sofia and the sulemaniye mosque, which I would say is the most beautiful building in the world.
